The Sony PRS-600 is an excellent e-book reader in all aspects, but perhaps its most unusual feature is the quality and usability. Its housing is made of metal with a touch of sweet from a little boring. Besides, frankly, makes the competition seem a bit expensive, despite its exceptional feature set. The back of the eBook Reader is cool guy with a soft pink finish, which we found very interesting. It seems to attract a few fingerprints, but much less luster.
The screen is 6 inches diagonally and has a good size for reading. E-Ink screen is generally easy to read letters, but a little darker, it would be better. We should be able to adjust the contrast, but have no way to do this. The instrument consists of eight shades of gray is good to show the value in pictures, black and white, but that does not mean that the gray scale is adjustable.
The touch screen is sensitive, but even higher than expected contact is necessary, especially when turning pages. Pages can be activated with small forward and back buttons at the bottom left of the screen and in most cases seems to use these buttons to get a little easier than sliding. Individual pages are fast enough, but not owners, but short, stuttering, we would expect from E-Ink screens.
A feature of the past that has proven useful, however, is that the pressure on the screen after a stroke, the pages can quickly around, turned either forward or backward. There is also a useful search function to find the words and some pages can be accessed by a number.
Unlike its predecessor, the PRS-600, the screen is not illuminated. While this may inconvenient, since it is the ability to read in the dark eliminated, the benefits are much greater. Backlight of the screen requires additional layer of a touch screen, the less sensitive. The new screen is remarkably easy to use. More importantly, making the extra layer makes the screen less reflective than its predecessor, which was his greatest weakness. The screen reflects more light under certain circumstances, but less than before. It works very well in full sun, but inside, small changes in the angle of the road can glare that causes the reading difficult. Fortunately, a small change is sufficient to be seen clearly.
Individual pages can for future reference, and notes are lined can be made. Use the touch screen can also notes directly on the screen with your finger or the included stylus. It is good that the music can simply be deleted if they are unwanted. It is much more beautiful than to permanent damage from the pages of a book of paper. Notes can also have a virtual keyboard instead of writing if you prefer. The notes can also be created independently from the pages of books you want.
